Surface Recording Gyro
The Surface Recording Gyro (SRG) is a versatile gyroscopic instrument package which can be used in both multi-shot or single-shot orientation modes. The SRG provided real-time data readouts on inclination, borehole direction, tool face, and temperature. |
Applications
The SRG is the tool of choice when instant survey data is required to save time. It is useful to orient motors, whipstocks and for setting templates for platform drilling operations.
Components
The SRG consists of a two-degree free-bearing gyro, and inclinometer utilizing Q flex accelerometers and the data probe, equipped with hybrid digital components for communication with the surface computer and digital processing equipment through a single conductor wireline.
Features
The SRG is easily transportable to offshore and land locations. The unusually small 2-1/16" high-temperature heatshield is capable of temperatures up to 340°C (625°F) for eight hours.
